Testing Information

OLPA testing:
Optional Local Purpose Assessments (OLPA) are given to Grades 3-5. Districts have the option of administering the OLPA test earlier in the school year to familiarize students with the functionality of the item types, online and accessibility tools, as well as the device fortesting.  Royalton Elementary students will take an OLPA math and OLPA reading test beginning in January of this year.  The OLPA testing window this year is October 19, 2015, through February 19, 2016; Royalton Elementary's exact testing dates will be available to view in a few months.  The OLPA test uses the same format as the MCA math and reading tests.

MCA testing:

The Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCAs), are the statewide tests that help districts measure student progress toward Minnesota's academic standards and meet the requirements of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). Students in grades 3-5 take the MCA test in the Spring. The students will take one MCA math and reading test, 5th grade students will also take one MCA science test.  MCA test dates are March 7-May 13; Royalton Elementary's exact testing dates will be available to view in a few months.
